Bridge Repairs:  Partially completed but open for use!
We are excited to announce that bridge is open for access. While the bridge repair is partially completed and safe for public use, a few items are still being addressed by management and the board to complete the project.
What still needs to be completed?
Lighting:
Please note that lighting is limited; we are working on lighting options but in the interim, when you are walking up the steps and across the bridge after dark, we strongly recommend using a flash light to ensure visibility and safety. Your well-being is a top priority, and we appreciate your cooperation in this matter.
Humming/Singing noise:
We understand that some residents, as well management have noticed a humming noise near the bridge area. We want to assure you that both the board and management are actively working on solutions to address this issue.
Painting:
Painting of the railings will take place once the humming/singing has been resolved. It is estimated to start early 2024.
We appreciate your patience during this process and want to make sure you are aware of the progress. We will keep you updated on the  ongoing process.

Neighborhood Board Notice
DO YOU WANT TO SEE HAWAII KAI DRIVE CHANGED TO TWO LANES WITH A CENTER TURN LANE?
To address speeding, the City Department of Transportation Services is currently assessing the possibility of installing a road diet along the extent of Hawaii Kai Drive from Maunalua Bay to Kealahou Street. This road diet would reduce the 4 lanes to 2 lanes and create a center turning lane. I want to know if YOU think this is a good idea. Let me know at www.gene-ward.com.
Tell Representative Ward your thoughts on this potential road design for Hawaii Kai Drive. Hawaii Kai Neighborhood Board meetings are held on the last Tuesday of every month at Hahaione Elementary School at 7pm.
